As some may remember, we had rat problems under the house in the past. Daryn finally put a screen cap over the ends of pipes to keep them from getting in. Well, if you don't have rats, you must have water, right?
Seems one never catches a break!
A rock lodged itself in the pipe, blocking the drainage. Not sure what made Daryn go looking under the house tonight, but he did. What did he find? Our belongings bobbing along like Pooh, Piglet and the rest of the Hundred Acre Wood pals! The thing is ... it's the kids' school books from past years. The items we need to have on record! Ruined. Plastic containers filled with water! The reason I had them in containers was to keep them dry! How in the world did they get water inside??? That's what I want to know!!!
We will have to get those boxes up to the house, into the garage, and see if I can dry/salvage anything.
In the meantime, it pours.
